| If any of you rodeo, trailride, show or for any other reasons move your horse interstate on a regular basis, then you'll like the Equine Passport! The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) has recently adopted regulations allowing for this alternative document. The requirements and benefits of the Equine Passport are as follows: | |||||||||
| The passport will be valid for 6 months from date of issue
The passport will replace the certificate of veterinary inspection for equines travelling between the participating states of: Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi. When the passport is used the EIA (Coggins) test must be run every 6 months. Only one equine will be listed per passport Permanent identification of the animal is required: tattoo, brand or microchip implant |
