Whether horses are your love or your career, you show competitively or your horse is a family pet, keeping it healthy and in good condition is important to you. PreventiCareTM makes exceptional health care possible.
PreventiCareTM is more than just another equine wellness program. It is an annual, veterinarian-administered preventive health care program for horses. By seeing your horse on a regular basis, your veterinarian can establish a history of your horse, and monitor the level of care it needs and receives over an extended period of time. |

As part of the PreventiCareTM program, your veterinarian will enroll your horse and provide the following six fundamental services over the course of a year: |
|

|
|
|
|
|
- annual physical exam
- annual dental exam and treatment
- appropriate immunizations
- daily use of Strongid® C or Strongid® C 2XTM
- twice yearly avermectin treatment
- nutritional counseling |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
This emphasis on prevention may keep a treatable problem from becoming worse, even life-threatening or debilitating.
|

When your horse is enrolled in the PreventiCare* program, and you comply with the program guidelines, your horse is eligible for the Colic Assistance Plan or CAP. In case of a serious colic requiring surgery, Pfizer Animal Health will reimburse the operating surgeon for surgical costs and three days of aftercare up to $5,000. |

With PreventiCare's emphasis on preventive health care, the chances of your horse maintaining good health and condition are increased. The Colic Assistance Plan gives you peace of mind knowing that if a colic should occur - and your horse is following the program - you can do what's best when your horse needs it most. |

* There are three disqualifications for PreventiCare:
1. Any horse that has had previous colic surgery
2. Any horse that has experienced colic in the last 12 months or has a history of chronic colic
3. Any horse under five months or not fully weaned from its mother, or any horse over twenty years of age. |
