Have you noticed a new but familiar face? We are proud to welcome Greg Buenger, D.V. M., back to Austin County.

A lifelong resident of the area, Dr. Buenger graduated from Bellville High School, Blinn College, and Texas A&M University. He attended the veterinary school at A&M and received his license in 1980. Dr. Buenger then began his veterinary career at MVC - Sealy, with Dr. Dennis Marek. In 1984 he opened his own mixed practice in Industry, where he practiced until 1996. Most recently he has worked as Director of Medicine for Pet's Choice, Inc., at their Katy, Texas hospital.

In 1988, Dr. Buenger put his wit and wisdom in print and published the book Stuff Your Cows Won't Tell You, He continues to write and publish as a monthly columnist for Santa Gertrudus Breeders International Journal, Gulf Coast Farmer/Rancher, and Texas Polled Hereford Association Newsletter.

Dr. Buenger and his family make their home in New Ulm. He enjoys speaking to groups of people, both young and old, about veterinary medicine and life.

On Thursday evening, March 30th, Ed Perwien made one final victory pass, with his phenominal performance and producing stallion Shoobop Shoobop adorned in a blanket of yellow roses. At age 16, he has done all anyone could ask of a show horse and has now been retired to pursue the job of being a full time father. With just 21 offspring as of year end 1998 - Shoobop's get have already earned one World Champion and 4 Reserve World Champion titles!

Ed and Ada Perwien own and operate Bluebonnet Farm, just 7 miles east of Bellville on FM 529, where Shoobop will retire to their beautiful 140 acre facility.
