| Temperature - can be determined by taking a rectal temperature with a thermometer that can be purchased at any drug store.
Heart rate - is determined by counting the pulse for one minute. Respiration rate - is the total number of breaths the animal takes in the period of one minute. This can be observed by watching the animal's sides or the nostrils. |
